Third Thursday Jazz is a monthly gathering where live music, community, and creative energy converge. Rooted in Cleveland, the series creates space for jazz that invites audiences to slow down, listen deeply, and connect through sound.
Born and raised on the Northeast China Plain, Mingzhou (Noa) Han is an undergraduate junior at Case Western Reserve University studying mechanical engineering and a dedicated student of jazz piano. Drawing inspiration from masters such as Kenny Kirkland and Keith Jarrett, while also shaped by contemporary voices including Nas and Fiona Apple, Han’s sound bridges tradition with modern influence. Over the past two years, he has become deeply immersed in the Northeast Ohio jazz scene, learning from and performing alongside its longtime musicians. Leading the MHN Quintet, Han performs alongside fellow emerging artists who share a commitment to honoring jazz history while exploring new, forward-looking expressions of the music.
