Event Details

Celebrate Juneteenth through storytelling, rhythm, movement, and community at The Sixty6 Music Lounge & Studio.

Beginning at 1 PM, guests can experience quilt and storytelling with Janda Lipker of James Lauren Beauty — a Cleveland-based mother-daughter quilting duo known for transforming personal memories and stories into quilted works of art.

At 3 PM, Assane Seck leads an African drum circle rooted in West African musical tradition, collective rhythm, storytelling, and cultural expression. A Senegalese griot, musician, and oral historian, Seck uses music and movement to preserve and share cultural traditions across generations.

The evening continues at 6 PM with line dancing hosted by Line Dance Is My Therapy, bringing people together through movement, joy, and community connection.

Held in the heart of Cleveland’s MidTown neighborhood, Juneteenth at The Sixty6 reflects the spirit of the space itself: a place where culture, creativity, and community come together across generations.
