Founded in 2012 by violinist Ariel Clayton Karas, OPUS 216 is one of Northeast Ohio’s premier musical ensembles, renowned for delivering exceptional live performances. The ensemble has appeared at iconic locations including the Cleveland Museum of Art, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Quicken Loans Arena, Progressive Field, Holden Arboretum, Cleveland Botanical Garden, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and Cleveland History Center, as well as at special events for the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Comprised of musicians trained at world-class conservatories such as the Cleveland Institute of Music, Juilliard, and the Manhattan School of Music, OPUS 216 artists call Cleveland home for its creative energy and cultural vitality. Beyond their work with the ensemble, members perform nationally and internationally, appearing at venues like Lincoln Center and with major orchestras including the Cleveland Orchestra, Chicago Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, and Atlanta Symphony. Their versatility has also led to onstage collaborations with artists such as John Legend, Michael Bublé, Brian Wilson, and Andrea Bocelli.

Equally fluent in classical and contemporary styles, OPUS 216 offers a highly customized musical experience designed to elevate any event. Their expansive repertoire spans classical, French café jazz, Top 40, hip hop, South American jazz, Irish fiddle, original compositions, and improvisation, allowing each performance to feel both sophisticated and distinctly personal.
